It is hard to believe that 2011 is already over. It is amazing how fast time flies. When I think back to 2011, I am not sure what I will remember. Perhaps my trip to BC this year - my experience of being on a houseboat in the middle of the Shuswaps? Or maybe my trip to Yellowstone and the Blackhills in July?
It is hard to know what 2012 will bring. I do know that I will be going to Hawaii in February. that should be fun. But other than that, who will I be one year from now? Will my life be any different? I think it will be relatively the same to what it is now....but who knows??
I guess that is the fun part about a new year....you never know what a new year will bring but you can be sure it will be full of surprises....just hopefully they are all good surprises!
:-)
Happy New Year Everyone!
This is a place for me to put in my opinions of what's going on in this world...after everything that has happened in this world, I have things to say.

coffee anyone?
I don't understand the appeal of coffee. I am not a coffee drinker - could never get into the taste and did not want to depend on it.
I find it funny that some people are so dependent on their coffee - they cannot function without drinking a least one cup of coffee every morning. But what I really don't understand is when people will spend at least 1/2 hour every morning in the Tim Horton's lineup waiting for their cup of coffee. Is it that good? Or (worse yet) when they wait in line at 11 am on a Sat morning for their cup of coffee. It could be that they are waiting for lunch....but they could get that anywhere (without the lineup). It is -18 outside and you want to wait in line? Don't get it....probably never will.
Don't get me wrong! There are days when I am so tired that I am practically falling asleep at my desk (at work) and I need to depend on caffeine to get me through the rest of the day. Honestly though - that is usually in the afternoon. I am usually okay to function in the morning but the afternoon.....that is a different story.

the twin she never knew...
Someone I know got married this summer. She said that the only time she cried was the morning of the day before her wedding day.
Her identical twin was stillborn. The morning of the day before her wedding she and her parents went to the graveyard to lay flowers at her gravesite. It is so sad. Can you imagine going your whole life knowing you should have had a twin - an identical twin at that?

We are having an actual summer this year...so far. The weather is warm and it feels nice. Hopefully this can keep up in the coming weeks.
I am going camping this weekend for the first time since 2009. It will be different yet exciting!

Canada Day!
Today is Canada Day. It is amazing how the meaning of Canada Day changes as you get older. Perhaps it is because I have now travelled to different countries that I appreciate Canada more. It is the greatest country in the world.
:-)
It is also amazing how much you know and understand yourself as you get older. I have more of an appreciation of myself the older I get. I know that I love making up games and activities and making things pretty (aka gifts). Now I just have to find a job that matches my interests (especially my interest in money).
Life is complicated but worth it.

days with B
Today I went shopping. It was fun! I bought a couple of dresses and a bit of other clothes (that I cannot remember right now). I also bought some flip flops. I meant to buy some nice sandals to wear with my dresses but my feet suck and I have a hard time finding shoes that fit.
Then I had the chance to go over to my mom's house and babysit my niece. That was also fun. It is raining outside but it is still a happy day!
I am looking forward to the rest of the weekend.
