really good conversation

Tonight I talked on the phone for 2 hours with one of the girls I work with. It was a really good conversation and I think we discussed a lot. I was nervous before I phoned her (because I always get nervous before I phone someone) but it was a good conversation. I am not sure what else I can say without delving into everything we discussed and I think you would all be confused anyway.

8 months

I cannot believe I have been doing this for 8 months. I know my blog is not the most exciting blog out there but I am excited that I have been doing it for so long! (Although I know many of my entries are quite lame.)

It definitely gives me something to do....

getting first aid

Today I took a First Aid Course. (I am in the course again tomorrow.) I have not had my first aid since 2003. It was kind of interesting listening to the instructor and hearing what all has changed since the last time I took the course.

I am nervous as we have to write a test tomorrow (and I dislike tests) but I am confident I will pass so I guess I have nothing to fear....

painting my nails

My niece painted my nails tonight. They are purple. I am not sure I will keep it on very long but it sure made her feel proud to paint my nails all by herself.

I do not paint my nails too often (especially my finger nails) but it is nice to paint them every once in a while.

It makes me feel girlish...

my name

I really like my name. It is pretty cool. It is a name that I do not run into very often (although it is more common now than when I was younger). I like having a more unique name. I am not sure how I would have gone through life as a Jennifer or a Kimberly, etc. How weird would that be? (Just because they are common names.)

I am glad I have the name I do!

preparing

Tomorrow I have a job interview. I actually feel kind of excited about it. I went to someone in HR today to get some tips and I feel a lot more prepared this time and a lot more confident.

I also talked to someone already in the role and she told me that she knew I could do the role! I was very excited to hear that!!

My interview is at 9 tomorrow so I barely have enough time to breathe before it but oh well....
wish me luck!

coincidences?

I have already mentioned that I bought a purple purse on the weekend. Today I wore a purple sweater. They matched!

I felt very self-conscious. I had to make sure I wore my jacket so that people could not tell my sweater matched my purse. It was really awkward.

I was told though that it looked alright. So today I appreciate coincidences?

Mantracker

It is really quite pathetic that this is something I appreciate but I have had some pretty pathetic entries in the past so whatever I guess.

Mantracker is a Canadian show. It is about a man who tracks humans. It is just a game but Mantracker is a trained tracker and is very capable of finding people who they are trying to get away from him. The point of the show is that there are two players (called prey) who try to get from point A to point B without the Mantracker finding them. The prey are on foot and Mantracker is on horse - he usually has a local sidekick with him. The prey only have 36 hours to get from point A to point B without getting caught.

It is an awesome show! Definitely worth watching....if you ever find a spare minute.

I bought a purse today. It is purple.

I had a sleepover with my niece last night. We ended up going to the grocery store for a few things. My niece spotted a barbie that she liked (she does not have a barbie). She wanted me to buy it for her but I said no. All she could talk about that night was this barbie and how much she wanted it.

The next morning the first thing she asked me was if we could go to the store to buy the barbie. She has just had a birthday, Christmas, and Easter so I thought she has gotten enough things in the last while.

Finally I suggested that she use her own money to buy it. She thought this was a fantastic idea and went to get her piggy bank. So I rolled money.

It was fun! (And she loves her barbie very much.)

waking up to birds singing

This morning I woke up to birds singing. I felt so peaceful!!!

I found it hard to wake up and get out of bed and go to work......

I love Spring when the birds start to see...although sometimes they can be annoying:-)

getting my work done

I used to have a temp job at my work (I was 'on assignment') but I am now back at my normal job. I actually went back to my normal job in Oct but I am still getting retrained and I am still now not completely trained. I have been in training all week except for today but we were in a meeting all morning.

However, I still got all my work done!! Which was awesome since the meeting we had this morning was all about our performance review and how we are to fill it out. One of the things mentioned was getting our work done on a regular basis. Since I got my work done yesterday as well, I feel like I am on a role and really competent!

In other news, I applied for another job....I will see how that goes!

Signs of Spring

Today it rained.

I heard a lot of people complain about the rain today but for me it represented a sign of Spring. It also reminded me of England - which is quite odd in a way because it did not rain very much when I was over there...? Weird.

I also really enjoy the rain (especially at this time of year). I love the smell of rain! And it did not rain heavily at all today!!

It was a quite enjoyable day all around!

Staying home and people coming

I made a point to stay home tonight because I had people who were coming to pick up calendars to deliver. I stayed home and they came!!! It was pretty cool!

Okay, only 6 of 10 came but it was still pretty good!

I like it when I say I am going to stay home all night and people come - it is quite hard to stay home when you said you were going to be home. I tend to get antsy sometimes!

But everything worked out so yay!!

Getting over it!

For the last few weeks I have been going through some serious business. I do not know if I am staying or if I am going! (most of the time)

Today I met with someone and we have a plan of how to deal with it. I feel a lot better now!!!

Easter

It is always great to see family on Easter. It is especially nice when you have younger kids in your family who are excited about the Easter bunny.

Today I had to hide eggs for my niece over and over and over again!!

It was fun!!!

free medical care

Today I went to the dr. I had to wait for a while (about an hour) and all I got was vaccinated. I had to pay for the vacination but I did not have to pay for the dr's visit or the tetanus shot I got. It was awesome.

I love going to the dr and not having to pay.

It really makes my day!!

Good Friday

I have realized lately that I am not very much of a computer geek....I always knew it but now I know it (again).

Anyway - in my family, Good Friday is a time for fasting...which means no meat, light meals, only 3 meals that day, and of course no snacks. When we were younger, my cousins and I made the mistake of eating a cookie on Good Friday. As a result, we had to do 1 decade of the rosary on each stair at my grandparents farm (on our knees). I think it was supposed to be punishment but it was actually a lot of fun and I think our parents ruined it by watching us and laughing. They gave me the impression we could leave it at any time and they would be fine with it.

I guess though that a lot can be said about the memories from your childhood and maybe as a result that is why I think twice before I do something.

Anyway, today we spent the day doing another family tradition - painting eggs and making videos.

Oh...what fun!!!

bullet proof teeth

For years and years and years....I have had bullet proof teeth!! I have never had a cavity!!!

I am soooooo sad to say.....I went to the dentist today, and I have a cavity! UGH!!!

I got the estimate to fix it and WOW!!!! cavities are expensive!!! I am never going to do this again!!!! (IF I can help it...lol)

I am actually kind of scared to get it filled. Does it hurt? (I am such a chicken) I know my niece cried when she had to get her teeth filled but she is 5. I would be totally embarrassed if I started to cry!! (LOL?)

Oh well...I do not have to go through that excitement until June!

a 3 day week

I love weeks when you only have to work for three days!! It makes a very short week!!

I relaxed tonight too....which was nice.

And now I get a long weekend!! (an extra long weekend!!)

All because of my day off!! YAY!!

options

I love having options. I hate feeling trapped. I am not sure what is going to happen in the next little while but whatever it is, I hope I will no longer feel trapped!!

I never thought I would ever being writing about frost....or at least that frost was something that I appreciated! But you never know...

a good meeting

The last time I met with this group of people it was a complete disaster!!

Tonight I think it went quite smoothly!! I am very glad of that!

I hope the others thought so too!

A great event

I have been organizing (or helping to organize) an event for the last couple of months. Today we pulled it off and it went great!! (or at least in my opinion it did)

It is nice to organize an event like that but it is also nice for it to be over!

We were high fiving like crazy though!

ink

There is nothing worse than trying to print off something and running out of ink. That happened to me yesterday, today I have ink!!!

growing up

I guess you cannot stay a child forever and sometimes you have to grow up, but sometimes growing up is really hard and you have to take responsibility for your actions.

But from everything lesson you have in life, you learn something and the important thing is to remember it.

walking to a meeting

Tonight I walked to a meeting. It was really nice outside and most of the snow has melted off the sidewalks - although it is still a bit icy in places.

It was a really nice walk and I arrived at my meeting refreshed!!!
